Yellow Jersey wearer Christopher Meredith (Giant Halo) has retained the lead in style when he powered clear of a select group of 10 riders on top of Gallows Hill. It was a wearing down process when some 40 riders started the climb out of Sixmilebridge and with 1km to go had worn down to just 10 riders as a result of pressure applied by Hot Tubes.
