US Road Race Champion, Gage Hecht rounded out his Scott Bicycles Junior Tour campaign with a fine stage win on the outskirts of Ennis today when he outsprinted Alexis Roche (NRPT/Magnet.ie) after a dominant display in the breakaway throughout the stage.
It was touch and go as to whether they would stay away until the finish following early pace setting from the yellow jerseys Giant Halo team and then on the final lap, Team Specialized slashing the gap right down to just 7 seconds on the line. But for Specialized a repeat of last years victory wasnt to be as Hecht managed to pass Roche who opened up the sprint.
Meredith finished safely in the peloton to win the 2016 Scott Bicycles Junior Tour.
Coloton Brookshire (Team Specialized) won the Eurocycles.com Points Classification.
A great display by May man Eoghan McLoughlin saw him win the Wicklow 200 King of the Hills Classification.
